I earned my Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from the Pennsylvania State University. Upon graduation, I went on to complete a non-degree Speech-Language-Pathology program at La Salle University. This program developed my knowledge and refined my skills necessary for working with students in the public and private school system that enter the classroom with deficiencies in speech and language. After completing the Speech-Language-Pathology program, I continued my education by earning my Master’s Degree in Education and an Elementary K-6 Certification from Cedar Crest College.
Prior to assuming my role as Director of Education at CAI Learning Academy, I worked in various education settings where I honed my instructional and leadership skills. I began my career working as a nanny, assisting families in raising their children from birth through 13 years of age. More than a decade later, I moved into a role at Lear Educational Center as an Educational Specialist where I provided one-on-one tutoring services to children in pre-k through high school. A major focus during my time at Lear Educational was preparing four and five year olds for kindergarten through a kindergarten readiness program.
I eventually moved into a position as a Reading Intervention Teacher at several parochial schools in Allentown and Bethlehem where I provided remediation and enrichment services to students in grades pre-k through third grade.
In 2012, I transitioned into the position of Director of School Programs at Computer Aid, Inc., an IT and Project Management Firm in Allentown, PA. During this time, I worked with local schools and community-based organizations, such as the Boys and Girls Club, to provide students with educational software programs that are designed to increase reading and math abilities.
I have a passion for working with children specifically during their early childhood years where development is of the utmost importance. Though play and socialization are essential parts of a child’s development, I believe in also providing a strong instructional-based program that includes educational technology that continuously challenges and engages students. My goal for all students is to prepare them for future school success and in becoming self-confident and motivated learners.

Most recently, after much hard work and determination, I received my Master’s degree in Educational Leadership in August, 2017.
I am originally from Cape May, NJ and have a great love for the beach. In my spare time, I enjoy running, reading, spending time with my husband and Pug named Hank, and watching my favorite sports team The Philadelphia Phillies! I have a great love for children and will do everything I can to ensure this is a great year for all of our students. I believe ALL children can succeed and that confidence is one of the keys to learning. I feel it is important for students to be motivated, encouraged, and challenged. Through modeling, teaching, and practice of leadership skills, I am proud that CAI Learning Academy provides students with the knowledge of the habits that are essential to be leaders in the home, school, and community.
Furthermore, I enjoy working collaboratively with our exceptional team of teachers to ensure the academic success of all of our students. In addition, I believe open communication between home and school is vital to your child’s success. My name is Mrs. Millie Konrath and I am the Office Administrator at CAI Learning Academy. I was born in Puerto Rico and have been a resident of the Lehigh Valley since my childhood. I am fluent in both Spanish and English. I am married and have one daughter.
In my spare time, I enjoy softball and baseball (Go Mets!), bowling, walking, biking, and volunteering for pediatric cancer activities and events. I firmly believe that all children are capable of learning anything and it is the job of teachers to find the best approach to reach each individual child. My vision for our classroom is that we will work together as a team, and I hope to foster a sense of group encouragement and also personal pride in all that your child accomplishes and attempts. Everything we do in our room can be elevated by support and communication between home and school, and I look forward to partnering with you in your child’s education. I am excited for another great year in 2nd grade at CAILA!

Fourth Grade Teacher
Hello! My name is Richard Smith, and I am the fourth grade teacher at CAI Learning Academy! I wanted to take a moment to tell you a little bit about myself.
The oldest of four children, I live with my parents in Quakertown, PA, where I grew up. I graduated from Quakertown Community Senior High School in 2003. From there I went on to earn my Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education, while also maintaining a minor in music, at Gwynedd Mercy College. I graduated in 2007 Cum Laude with Program Honors. I did my Student Teaching experience at Richland Elementary School in the Quakertown Community School District in fourth grade. Over the past ten years, I have had experience working with students ranging in age from 2 years old all the way up through high school. I have a good deal of experience working with students who have learning and emotional delays. My last position was as the fourth grade teacher at Our Lady Help of Christians School in Allentown in its final year of existence.
Personally, I have many hobbies I enjoy. I am a ravenous fan of the Philadelphia Eagles, Phillies, Flyers, and Sixers. I am also a huge fan of The Ohio State Buckeyes college football team. I also enjoy reading both books and comic books, playing video games, watching movies, singing, playing tabletop RPGs, and spending time with my friends and family.
I absolutely love teaching fourth grade. It is so fun and exciting to work with this age group: watching the students grow, mature, and take on more and more responsibility as the year progresses. I look forward to working with all the students this year!
Fifth Grade Teacher
Hello! My name is Miss Summy and I teach 5th grade! I graduated from Lebanon Valley College in Annville, PA in 2015 with a B.S. in Early Childhood Education and became certified to teach PreK-4. Math Specialist/Intervention Teacher
My name is Mrs. Brodt, and I am excited to tell you that this year I will be taking on a new position as Math Specialist/Intervention Teacher. Prior to this year I was teaching 1st grade at CAI Learning Academy. I received my teaching degree from Moravian College, and I have been teaching in Pennsylvania for the last fourteen years. Prior to becoming a teacher, I was a bank auditor. I started teaching because I find it very rewarding helping students grow not only in academic knowledge but in the confidence that comes from success. When I am not teaching, I enjoy spending time with my family and my dog, Bela. I enjoy exercising and all kinds of sports, and I am especially passionate about supporting my favorite team, the New York Yankees. Coming from a family of musicians, I enjoy all kinds of music, and I use music in my teaching. I am looking forward to a wonderful year. My goal is for every student to know that he or she is a valued part of our school community at CAI Learning Academy.
It’s an honor to be an instructional aide for kindergarten, first grade, and second grade students at CAILA this year. As part of the instructional aide team, I work with teachers to help prepare materials for student activities, work with students directly to support their academic progress through our IStation program, and provide other literacy-based activities to help students be successful communicators, readers, and writers. The most rewarding work for me is seeing students solve problems, sharpen their skills, and become real leaders through CAILA’s Seven Habits philosophy. I am a K-4 and ESL K-12 certified teacher in Pennsylvania.
Before moving to Pennsylvania in 2016, I served students and families in the Green Bay Area Public School District (Wisconsin) in various bilingual and monolingual classrooms over a five-year period. My interest in languages prompted me to earn Bilingual and ESL certification to further help students achieve academic success. I also received training in ALICE, Non-Violent Crisis Intervention, AVMR, Bilingual Guided Reading best practices, Spanish Dictado best practices, WIDA best practices for ESL Students, and PALS and PALS Español assessment programs.
Prior to my career in education, I provided database services and automation assistance for a global software company in library management services for education, marketing services for a civil engineering company, and marketing and label design services for an agricultural chemical company. In these positions, my clear and concise writing skills helped employees operate, test and maintain database systems, assisted communities in securing State and Federal funding for engineering projects, and paved the way for a private business’s marketing strategies.
When I am not at CAILA, I enjoy reading, writing, gardening and ballroom dancing. On the weekends, I enjoy exploring the Lehigh Valley area with my husband, Rob, and my dog, Missy.

I love spending time with my family and doing anything outside! This time next year, I would love to be working on achieving my Bachelors degree in Early Childhood Education.
